Hi all. Decided to flame my A last Sunday morning, needed some personality. The black paint is not bad, but not perfect, so what the hell right? Turned out pretty nice! I used satin rattle can, it's hard to fuck up satin. Gonna outline them in the same ivory on the firewall. Dig it!

    Wow! Those look awesome!

Of course I am biased to the black/turquoise color combination!

Very nice looking flames. They flow beautifully down the side of your sedan.

looks good. did you use some type of stencil for layout or freehand? how did you duplicate on the other side? what color for accent pinstripe going to use?

I like it. But . . . . . They are too thin & long for the "Time Period" thing. Your way does look better. Colors are bitchin!

Thanks for the comments! I did freehand them using tape. Almost the exact same on the other side. In the words of Mr. Howard, "you can't see both sides at the same time." That being said you'd be hard pressed to find the differences. I am a pinstriper and have a nack for eyeballing things.

I know they are not quite right for the period, but stretching them down the entire side of the car gives it a lower stance look. And I dig this style of flames!

  22. Me likey! Made my own also, it's "traditional".

  23. I was prepared to not like the "driveway flames"....but they look great! you did a great job and yup, ivory pin striping would make em pop a smidgen.
