So my 35 has mid 60's SW gauges in it, the speedo is still the stocker( doesn't work ) I'm running a muncie 4 speed, and will need to set up the speedo drive ... Did Stewart-Warner make a direct replacement that will fit the stock opening ? It's time for a speedo...Got off with a warning, doesn't pay to pace with traffic I suppose.. The cop was cool explained the speedo was broke and was using the tach to gauge speed(wink)
Should not be a problem getting your stock 35 speedometer fixed, or find another good 35/36 speedometer that does work. The question may be is the cable drive and rpm correct to give an accurate mph reading on the speedo? There are adaptors made that fit in the cable drive that can match speedometer to trans output to give correct mph readings. I also use a GPS to check my speed on trips.
Hey Rob 4 3/8 is the measurement. Here is what I have done on my 3w. I think these speedos were used on early Harley's. I have a stock 36 if you want to go back that route let me know Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
