My Ad-Aware (SE Personal) has been picking up the same 17 pesky adware/spyware programs that seem to continuously install themselves on my computer. These same ones seem to get caught every single time I run Ad-Aware after browsing the internet. I'm getting tired of that.

I already use Javacool's SpywareBlaster (HIGHLY recommended!!!) to block many, many malware programs from ever getting on my computer in the first place, but it obviously isn't blocking these other 17.

Anyone know a way to put up an even more effective blockade so that these programs will never see the light of day on my system????

Put your puter in "safe mode" then run all your anti programs...That usually takes care of it ...I'm far from a puter genius but a friend of mine guided me through the same problem this way

yea,,, once some of them things get onto your machine, they multiply and hide EVERYWHERE... hard as hell to kill, but like eddie suggested run them in safe mode and they should get squashed OK

wish ya luck,,, them things are a bitch:mad:

Why exactly do you say that I should do this in safe mode?

Because,in safe mode, only the bare minimum is operating and this way little pieces of these "pests" can't re-install themselves...I don't know if this makes sense, but it usually works

I run adaware all the time and have recently added a new one with it.
I was reading Consumer reports and they listed a new one which is suppose to be the best. It's a freebee by Microsoft and it monitors in real time and runs a check everyday along with it.
Here is an article and a link to download.
