60 is about as far as I have seen but truthfully I wouldn't,,I would look for another block or sleeve the block. HRP
Yes you can go to .080 I have a 312 block that is 80 over and was run for about 10 years that way, I just rebuilt it again and plan on running it in my model A I have seen plenty of 292s .060 over and a few 80 over. Egge machine has the pistons.
What is it that you will be using this one for? I was always told to use a 292 block and not the 312..just the heads haha.
We did a 325 cube y block last year using Buick rods and Chevy pistons. I think we went way over .060 to fit the standard Chevy pistons. 307 if I remember right. Offset ground the crank Had no problems with it. 292 block can be punched to 312 bore no problem. Grind down the mains on the 312 crank to fit the 292 block and use ecz 312 rods.
