I am starting a 54 bel air 2 dr project. The car is apart, but labelled and boxed up well. The frame has rust issues with rear body mounts, front braces ( see pics) my question is does anyone repop these parts or know where to get them? I know there are many build posts on. 54's but with out reading all of them I didn't see any mention of frame parts. Thanks for any feedback on the question !!

As far as I know, reproduction parts are not available. Ch***is Engineering makes a nice crossmember kit to replace your K member. The struts go to the rear instead of forward.

That being said, beside the body mount being toast, you have serious structural issues in photo 2 of 3. If I am looking at that right, you took the photo of the body mount that is just to the rear of the front spring perch. Not a good place for thin and holey metal.

IMHO, get another frame. Find a donor car with a good frame or build one. By the time you get done patching this one up, you will be dollars and time ahead by starting with another one.

Thats pretty sketchy stuff there, If the rest of the frame is even close to what those cross member pieces look like I would start thinking about another original frame, in my opinon the newer frames that guys use usually dont have the right wheel base. Since all the cool kids are running air bags, most of the time the first thing to get removed is that cross member. I would put a wanted add in the cl***ified section and maybe send a pm to Mr. Gambino. Ill bet money hes got one in the corner somewhere. If you have a good welder fab up the pieces they dont have to look original just be the same thickness and function.

Hardtop cars have additional reinforcement in the upper, inner portion of the top-hat, that the others don't have.

Thanks for all your input, it's much appreciated. I'm looking locally to see what's around. The frame other than the spots pictured is solid . Not bad for a northeast car anyway. Into the car for a whole 500.00, so if I have too put a little in its not to bad.

Ok how much for frame? And what I need are the rear body mounts and the trams mount/ k- member. I didn't know if you may have a less than perfect frame that you would be interested in removing what I need.

Have any of you guys built a 49-54 bel air and installed a 400hp or less v8 and not reinforce the frame? I was not going to touch my frame but I've had advice a stock frame will twist from hp and torque close to the 400 mark.
