  7. **** hot man, you've got a killer start there, keep it real man, remember most modifieds were built in the 40's, so that pretty much kills any OHV engines, and most rearends, Mild Mitch has the most perfect modified I've seen in a while, he's up in Redding, you should look him up

Pretty nice start on what looks like a very cool modified. What kinda media did you use to blast that thing? Is the windshied frame bent? , or is that a curved gl*** frame? Keep us posted!

We used gl*** bead to blast it, which is a little ********, but the body held up perfectly. the only thing that didnt survive the blasting was the floor, but that was coming out of it anyway. the windshield is the original one cut and flipped upside down, I thought it gave it sort of a wicked oldskool look.

hmm, I never thought of that. looks like I might have to, the door hunt is lookin pretty scarce. Is there such a thing as getting a ticket for no doors?

I luv the bare metal look on it. Will a clear stick and adhere to bare metal though. I got that gibs oil on it right now cuz they day after blastin it started to rust a little. It gonna be a task to get it off if I wanna clear it now

The way you have it mocked up it looks like the one with the upside down frame. Might be something to think about.

there is a product called Bulldog. It's an adhesion promoter (mainly for plastic parts) but I have used it over bare metal. Clean the **** out of the bare metal with a good paint prep, spray it with the bulldog (comes in a rattle can) and paint the car with clear as soon as the bulldog becomes tacky.

    - for an even more kick *** look, add some kandy tint to the clear. (not trrad, but it looks really ****ing cool.

http://readersrides.com/kandy.wmv <=== Video clip of my buddy Taylor painting the clearcoat on my air tanks... It's a minitruck, but you get the idea.

Neat project!!! Just make doors... hell, you're building the rest of the car. The following door was constructed over a 1/2" square steel tube frame/skeleton. Then I skinned it with 20gauge weld steel... Just a thought...
