Not sure if any of you guys were planning on going this Saturday but I plan on being there! Looks like it from 10-4 I've wanted to go for a few years, but I've always missed it! I've heard its pretty cool. Troy Ladd is supposed to be the guest judge. Should be a cool cruise in! Just thought I'd pass it along!
I too wish it was close to go, Met Kenny at the shop many many years ago and super nice guy and the rest of his crew were great and super cool.
I'm not too sure what to expect but I don't see how it couldn't be fun! If nothing else it will be some good window shopping. A good excuse to practice resisting the impulse buy!
Sounds like great fun. Touring the facility is fantastic experience. Kenny and Chuck are two great gentlemen. Ray was one of the most innovative individuals in the auto industry and his knowledge and awesome personality are greatly missed. He left behind a legacy that will be hard to match. Wish I could be there.
I heard Chuck was no longer employed there. And yes it is a pretty cool place to tour. Hopefully the storms that have been passing thru the area over the last few days will be out of the way and it will be a sunshine kind of day.
Great show...I didn't stick it out the ole lady and my son were getting bored. I didn't take the tour, the line was pretty long and I've been in there before. But I was very impressed with the cars in contention for the "Ray" award including a few HAMB'ers. This is just a small sampling of cars I really liked. Sorry for the phone pics, maybe someone has better ones to add! How can you not like that straight bare steel under the clear!
Would have liked to have gone to this one. It would have been the first time since Ray's passing. What a great guy. I started buying parts from him when he first started doing patch panels for Model A's then from his small shop before the move into the present facilities. It is truly an American success story. Hey Don I wanted to catch back up with you the last time I saw you, you were about to take the tour, what car did you drive I didn't see the Dodge!
My friend John Mann from Muncie, Indiana is bringing his 1932 B Model Sedan built from specs from my brothers C/A that was the runner up in the 1961 US Nationals at Indianapolis.
