After last years smashing of the flathead gas roadster record, ( Read about it here : http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=722137 )
Kenny and Matt ready the roadster for this years ***ault on the salt. Ken, handily shattered the old 153mph record by raising the bar to 161.4mph. He then went after another record on NoS beating the 162mph record by running 164.3mph but hurt the motor and couldn't back it up. This year will be different! Ken got some ***istance from some good ole boy NASCAR engine builders to build him a new set of lifters that shouldn't fail. So if you on the Salt, Come on over and say Hi to Ken, Matt and Danny of Makuch Racing.

I saw the car last year, and it is impressive! I'll look for it this year.

What is so special about the lifters? We need info!:D

The lifters are a lot stronger than stock. Last year Ken broke a lifter, or should I say disintegrated a lifter. The cam is VERY aggressive. Think square lobes.

Yep-I saw and heard it on the salt-it's impressive!

We went to a big roller cam this year, and a a huge flat tappet cam last year. I'm really just curious about his specs-mine are posted on my build thread.

I hope he has a great year!

He did not. He said if your idea failed it would contaminate the whole motor. I'll have specs and a pic of the cam a little later. Should be set to fire tonight and break in the cam and set the initial tune. I'll post more pics and try a video late tonight.

  15. Looking forward to the vid!

    That mill sounds awesome!

    Thanks for the cam pic!

Here's mine-the back one is last year's flat tappet cam, .525 lift, 270 duration. The front cam is this year's Dema Elgin roller cam, with 'gentle' ramps, .5106 intake and .5058 exhaust, 282/289 duration @.050.

    Again, good luck this year!
