I am doing a 67 SS Nova for a buddie and he ordered a hood and deck lid from Total and while I was expecting some problems with aftermarket sheet metal I wasn't expecting the deck lid to be formed just about completely wrong. He has been on the phone and e-mailing them for 3 weeks now. The hood was almost like cowl induction over an inch high in the center and has high spots allover itas you can see in the pic. The deck lid you can see in the pics isn't even close to fitting and they say the quarters are wrong, it is a Texas car and they are orig to the car. I asked them at the Nats this past week end to look at and I would take them to it as it was only 15 mins away. Nope wouldn't do that, never had any problems with any of there stuff....go away pretty much what I got. So after e-mailing them the story about the Nats they now are willing to refund $150.00 for $800.00 worth of junk. Customer service ****s and so do the parts. There is more but I don't want to bore you guys to death, just be warned Total Restoration parts and people ****.
Unfortunately that's the usual fit for the Asia junk. Cost's 3-5 times as much labor to fix than what it costs to buy. Pay a premium for original metal whenever you can. It'll end up being cheaper.
Yep, same story for my buddy's 66 sedan. Third OE lid later, finally got a pretty good one (at least it fits the hole, still needs some tweaking to remove 45 years worth of use)
