Any one know what rear axle will swap into a 1951 plymouth cranbrook. 2 door. With little to no modification?

67-8 C Body & the early 70s E body are your best chances.

Check out early Dakota's up to 90 and all explorers to see if they will fit your car. They work well under 46 - 48 Plymouths which might be wider than your car.

I think the Mopar C and E body rears may be too wide.
You will need to modify spring perches. I used a 67 B Body Mopar rear in my 55 Plymouth which I believe has a similar rear end to your car.

Measure your stock rear and then go here to look for similar width.

I have an 8" ford out of a Mustang or a Maverick I think - it's 59 1/4" wide flange to flange. There's no brackets or springs pads on it - it's ready to go. $75. Has a 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern also. Has backing plates, no drums or brake parts.

    Oh...and a nice cruising gear - 2.79

Time to get out the tape measure. Here are some Mopar numbers:

Also look at the Grand Cherokee and Exploder if you have a pik-n-pull nearby.

You will need to install narrow spring pads on whatever you choose. They are available at most trailer supply shops.

I'm putting an 8 1/4 out of a early 90's Cherokee in my 50 Plymouth. Looks like it will be a good fit and has 5 x4.5 bolt pattern. Spring perches and shock mounts available at Butch's Cool Stuff.

That's what's in my 51. And a lot of times you can get them for free.
