I wonder if the blueprints are available anywhere online. A perfunctory search has not turned up anything but the article, so far. I like it very much, maybe better than a locost/lotus...

The drawings in the article are pretty good and about all you need, IMHO. Gary

Uh, ya think? I can't compare this to an Allard no matter how hard I try. One of my "lottery" cars would be a J2X. Not even close to what these were. History? Yup. Kool? to some. Pretty? Sorry, I must disagree, and I have my doubts as to how "pretty" or "kool" it could be. It is what it is though. To each their own said Mrs. O'leary as she kissed the cow.

Does this look like the topic car to you?

I've seen uglier **** posted as brand new builds here..... just saying.
I still think it could be redone by pulling off the home-made body and starting from whatever frame there is under it. seems like, to many people, once the bodywork is down on one of these, it's like it was cast in concrete and can't be changed. not a thing an angle grinder can't take off that car.

I like weird stuff. That one is not very pretty , but really cool that it matches the Mechanix Illustrated plans.

I wonder where you get plans for this?

I think the history of the car in the link speaks for itself. Just remember not everyone has a mentor and a nice shop, these guys were mostly middle cl*** folks with non auto related jobs, and I bet for the most part did it themselves. You know, like hotrodders. Maybe not every piece turned out real nice, but those folks are due some respect for not writing big checks.:)

I'm with Hugh, Its not to my taste but I respect anyone trying. Def won't piss on an honest effort. Not even the tuner kids. I hate that shiot but encourage working on actual stuff instead of doing pretend computer things...like typing here

I bought my first car, a '32 tudor that was intended to become one of these. Once the guy gave up, I took it home for $20. It even had side mount spares and two 21 stud engines with it. That was 60 years ago!
