W & H Performance Distributor???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by StillOutThere, Jul 27, 2013.

  1. Friend has this W & H "DuPoint" Performance distributor. No one we know has ever heard of the company including a life long car guy from Anaheim, CA where the tag says the company was located. There is NO vacuum advance unit. This is installed on a '55 Chrysler 300 Hemi.

Anyone have ANY knowledge of this company or their products?

    Thanks

    That same "W&H" company made
    also made a model called a "W & H
    Ducoil
" distributor that as the name
implies didn't just run dual points,
but dual coils ignition coils too.

The "W" in W&H was Bob Wyman, a longtime performance guru. It was located behind a speed shop in Anaheim. Bob and the entire W&H product line ended up at Mallory in Carson City NV. Bob was one of the original SEMA (back when it was the Speed Equipment Manufacturer's ***ociation) members and was constantly warning industry members that the government would shut the industry down unless we started to comply with smog laws.

It's probably on dual point, full centrifugal, dizzy similar to the Mallory Mag spark. Might be hard to get points for like some of the old flathead mallorys.

That Mallory concern is (was?) under the blanket of Mr. Gasket after the move to Nevada...
I called and spoke with 'Mallory Engineers' about crab caps, Mallory points, rotors, etc.

Every time I got a different answer...nobody knew what there was 'in the warehouse', and nobody knew who to ask...
They must have had it all hidden to avoid 'floor tax'.

Would LOVE to find a stash of W&H stuff. Quality was right up there with Kong & Spalding!

  6. Thanks VERY MUCH guys !

  7. caps and rotors are getting hard to find for ducoils but I believe the points are from ford. can't remember if 6 volt or 12 volt points though
