I have a problem workin on a model A, installed a 401 and was hoping to use the exhaust manifold but, the passengers side aims right at the top of the frame rail. did they make a center dump maifold for any model Buick? Does anyone have any? The alternative would be headers but, I wanted to keep the look of the car with the manifolds. Thanks for any help.
I just picked up a set for a 364 that fits a 401. The drivers side is usually the problem with steering.
I had the same problem with the 401 out of a 65 Wildcat that I put in my '50 chevy. I ended up using a drivers side manifold off of a 62 LaSabre on the passenger side and solved my problem.
Thanks for the ideas guys, you know, I think a d-side manifold would work on the p-side. Now the big question, does anyone have any for sale? Thanks,
I believe I have one of the ones pictured in post #3. Bottom one in the first photo which is the same as in the car photo. I did remove the heat riser butterfly and plugged the shaft holes. I have another one not pictured the comes out just a little further forward and angled down and back for the passenger side and the riser is still in it and working. PM me.
Hi .. Have You a reference site. For Hexaust Headers for 401 Nailhead Engine. Buick Wildcat 1963. I want to remove the original manifold. Tank 's .... Serge
Try this, its cheaper looks great, fit is stock and no issues with cracking & rusting. I have not flowed them but Im sure they are not far from headers. 1965 425 exhaust Manifolds removed heat riser ceramic chrome coated and thermal berring coating inside.
