It's a Falcon, it's gonna be a gasser! And it's mine!

Just picked up a '63 Falcon Futura. Pretty clean, gonna drop in a 302/auto out of a '85 Mustang. Future plans inlcude straight axle(or lifted stock front?) big rear tires, with radiused rear wheelwells, etc.

I'm looking for a teardrop hoodscoop. The cheaper the better? Anybody?

I probably will go with a straight axle but I might just add some spacers in the coils for now. JC Whitney sells 'em for about $10 a piece.

if you want to raise the front just get a new set of v8 coils ,and get ball joint spacers from speedway motors they have them on the garage sale section last i looked,i have a 61 falcon the i built a camed up 200 six with a fender well header,im going the gasser route with it also

  10. I LIKE IT! I saw one of these in the late 60's/early 70's that was dark blue & had radiused rear with big meats. It was a real head turner. The guy used it for drag racing and it had some name (I don't recall) painted on the sides. Gary 4T950 Chevy guy

I would NOT try to raise the stock front end! You will run into some crazy alignment problems! The geometry of these front ends do not like radical changes. Go with the straight axle when you can afford it, but for now don`t waste your money! I`ll post some pics of a friends Falcon Gasser soon. Oh , by the way Very cool find!

In 1968, Dad was still in the Air Force and we were stationed in Germany. He owned a '62 Falcon wagon and we took a family camping trip into France. The rear axle failed and he was lucky enough to find a "similar" Ford car in a local junkyard. As I recall it didn't exactly fit, something about the axle length....anyway he got it install and we limped back home into Germany with it that way. Later on he got a direct replacement and before we transferred back to the states I helped him clean it up and sell it. I got to keep the money towards buying my first car which turned out to be a '63 chevy two door post. Actually, I guess the Falcon could be considered my first car. It was a real straight car, nice lines...

I don't hink I'd want to drive to far or fast with a raised original front end on a falcon due to the strange geometry of the beast. put a speedway axle under it it'l be totally killer looking. love them falcons , we have a guy in town who has driven his to work with a straight axle and a 460 4 sped for years and radiused wells it is cool as hell, nearly as cool as my 55 chevy ............
