Back in the late sixties my younger brother put a '57 312 in a early Falcon 2-door. The Y-block was so heavy the front springs were coil-on-coil, so he put a straight axle of sort kind in it but never figured-out how to get it to steer right - the darned thing went like heck in circles one direction only!

A friend of his had one of the nice small-block Futura HT's like you've got. He built-up the rear leafs real strong so he could put big tires on the back of it. My Dad said it looked "like a bumble bee in heat" - Ha! Ha! :D

  6. if you want a real nice finished radius rear wheelwell, just get a couple of front fenders, and slice the wheelwells out(leave about 3 to 4 inches at bottom of radius and slice the radius out in a square. Body lines are the same and it makes for a real clean look. Me and my best bud did up a 63 falcon ranchero a few years back like that and it looked nice. We straight axled it, cut out the shock towers and stuffed a 486cu BBC chevy/turbo 350 ****** in. 57 ford 9" is a bolt in, and he's running a locker. It has 4 wheel disc brakes and we used a GM steering box. It doesn't sit real high as he's not a big fan of nose high at***ude, but with 4 in blocks it would be just about right.
    Good luck with yours
