I'm looking to buy a set of 41 Ca license plates. Does anybody know of a guy or a business specializing in this? Don't want to chance gettin' a set I can't use. I need the "DMV" clear plates. Am willing to pay good money but need some kinda garauntee. Did a search, but it looks mostly guys selling collections.

Dave usually just buys them on Ebay, paints them... then sells them for top $$$. He does make sure they are 100% clear, but you can do this yourself with a 5 minute call to the central Sacto DMV office.

If you have the money, I wouldn't hesitate going with Dave, but I would suggest that you tell him to bring them to Pomona (his booth), becuase his plates range from really sloppy "restorations" to decent plates. Most have moderate to really bad paint bubbles. They also chip really easy, so be careful when installing them. If you choose it yourself and in person you should get a good set.

    Best Regards,

It means that the numbers on the plate are not currently ***igned to another vehicle already on the road.

DMV clear means that you can use the plates on your collector vechicle....

Example........1941 Ford .....with a real California 1941 issued tag.....but the number has to be OK with the Department of Motor Vehicles ( DMV )

    :D
