    The right lane at that track has claimed a few cars in the past. I'm glad he is ok.

    Fortunately, just a broken humerus (upper arm).

    He was conscious when the EMT arrived, about 20 seconds after the car came to a rest.

    Did you receive some different information?

    Mickey Hale (Warlock Racing AA/GS) reported the following yesterday morning...

    =================
    "Gordon is doing ok.

    He was going in for surgery on his arm this am as it is broken above the elbow. He got banged up pretty good.

    Car is junk but that's not important at this point. I was right behind him getting ready to go so it was a tough day for me to see that happen to a good friend.

    Don't speculate on the track as I don't really see it as an issue, we ran there all weekend and that was our last set of runs when that happened.

    He went thru sideways or on his roof at 5.31@111 so he was flying for our type car."

    Glad I left earlier and didn't witness the crash, terrible looking, concerns to those involved. I noticed in the vid he seemed to get the same kind of sideways in his burnout. Here is a late comment posted by someone on the YT vid:

    "...Prayers go to the driver and family. This is a very unfortunate accident but it had nothing to do with the track. Yes, there is a bump at the 1/4 mile mark, this happened before the 1/8 mile. Car got out of the groove then the chute got tangled in the wheelie bar causing the roll. The Mac Attack funny car ran his quickest pass ever here Saturday night..."

    Gordon had a accident several years ago with the Willy's were he got out of the groove and the chute tangled around one side of the wheelie bars and pulled him sideways flipping him violently. He was not hurt that time and rebuilt the willy's. The accident was in Gasser Wars magazine in an issue after it happenend. When I seen this second accident it must have been dejavue for Gordan.
    It is terrible that his car was destoyed and I hope he makes a speedy recovery. Gordon is a great guy and it saddens me that this has happenend to him again.
    Get well soon!!

    How's Gordon doing??? I met him briefly at Thompson 2010 when I was there with my black gel coat 33 Willys. (Ed Kuhn's old car) Gordon introduced himself and we chatted about Ed and my 33. A real nice guy, and he told me he was rebuilding his 33 . Hate to see what happened to Gordon and his car.. How about an update.
