Hi all, Posted a video of a 34 and 39 Ford drag racing and thought someone may like to see the 32 Rockne we found. It sat in a Baltimore garage with the 34 Ford in the other video for several years. Bought it and got it running. This video shows it's first airing out in years. I hope you like it. http://youtu.be/fAzNPf9bMng Keep old ride riding!
Original Paint very little rust. Shot the video 3 days after we bought it. Sat for years! The original cast iron carb had issues but got it cleaned and it runs smooth.
I've stayed away from cars that old because my big *** don't fit in 'em. The Chevys seem a little roomier than the Fords but this car looks pretty roomy, or is it just an illusion?
That is one neat car and thanks for sharing More info and pics on a car I had never heard of. http://www.theantiquestudebakerclub.com/rockne/rocknephotogallery.htm
It is quite roomy. Looks like it's chopped stock. Put it next to my Ford A coupe and what a difference.
Pretty *****in! I know where there's a Rockne sitting in a barn...in Ohio. St. Clairsville to be exact. The last time I saw it was a couple years ago, but I know for a fact that it's been in the same spot since about 1982. I believe its a 4-door sedan though - about this same vintage.
Great find,i have 2 of them, and i know how hard it is to find parts.I would leave it alone and drive the piss out of it....Congrats!!!
First time I ever saw a Rockne I took it for a '32 Ford 3 window. (direct side view: went to buy it with a restorer I worked for) He said, "Holy cow! It's a Hupmobile!" I didn't say anything, because I spotted the door that swung from the front! When I got around front, I was confused...then he looked, and said "It's a Rockne!" He got it for a song...$750, started right up with a new battery.
My sentiments exactly. '27 T Roadster build: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=734383
