What type of rear axle is this?

Thinking about dragging home a new project. What type of rear axle is under this critter? See picture. Any help would be appreciated, as I'm not too well versed with rear ends.

 

If you can't fit a socket on the bottom nut, it's a 9 inch, right?

 

8 or 9 inch ford, can't tell from pic.

 

By the housing ends, the drop out third member, and input yoke its a for 8 or 9" for sure.

 

Looks like a 9 inch,to see if it's a nine or eight inch try and put a deep 9/16 on the lower two bolts, if it fit's it's an eight inch, if it won't go on it's a nine inch.From the angle of the picture it appears to be a nine inch

 

Concur that it appears to be a Ford 9-inch.
