Hi everyone. New member of the cl***ic car world. Just purchased a 1953 Chevy BelAir and will be the first to admit that I'm a newbie. Excited to get some pointers and advice from people on here. -Josh
Glad to hear there is a new "local". I have not been able to connect with anybody up here that has car tastes similar to mine. There are some shows, but mostly "cl***ic" (mustangs, Camaros, muscle, etc.). Nice cars of course but I'm stuck in the '50's. I guess I'm old school rockabilly (homebuilt sleds, lowbuck,etc.). If you hear of any oldies shows coming up down you're way, send me a message. I can't exactly tell you how to do that but the more you visit this site, you'll be able to figure it out. Drive that Chebby!! Cosmo in Prescott
Thanks! I'm in that same category--- 50s style! Will let you know if I hear of anything. I do know things will be slow until the weather starts cooling down!
What part of Missouri? I've lived in Phoenix for 11 years but was born and raised in Joplin Missouri.
born and raised here , 47 years . great place to live. post some pics of the car . alot of 49 to 54 chevy guys here.
Will for sure get some on here. Just got finished rebuilding the ****** with a buddy so trying to nail down the front suspension options on her now so she can stop, not pull to the right and cruise at higher speeds. Pics will come...
Welcome to the HAMB from another Desert dweller. Since you are wanting to upgrade suspension and brakes and many 55-57 Chevy guys have turned their cars into straight axle G***ers has anyone used a 55-57 front clip on the 49-54 cars? The advantage being that you would easily be able to run the 235 or SBC and have availability to all kinds of suspension parts and brake upgrades.
Thanks! Like the truck... and almost got one myself but I had kids in mind for the future and cruising with them to get ice cream and such.
Thanks Gents! I'm going to need all the advice/help out there. Nervous as hell but excited at the same time.
