I'm building a 31 Model A traditional hot rod using as many pre '55 parts as I can find. The body is a Cabriolet, or what was left of it - a rusted out turtle and a cowl that some idiot took a torch to and cut the front out of and cut through the center of the floor board supports on each side. I've got a donor cowl front but at almost $300 for this floor board support pieces, I'm building my own. I think I have figured out the design of the original, but I need to know the dimensions of the bottom and angled front floor boards for a 30-31 A. Can anyone help with pictures and dimensions? John
some in here . i would honestly buy em . or look for some used ones that are in ok shape. pretty intricate/important piece in getting everything lined up and strong ! i am talking about the pieces that get the bolts through them that go to the frame (subframe connectors) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=700219 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=677367&page=3
Hi John If you post over at the Ford Barn you will get what you need. You might however not mention that are building a hot rod, but just that you are looking to repair a Cabriolet floor. Also, Flop, from the reply just above, has forgotten more about fabbing Model A sheetmetal than most of us will ever know. IMO His build threads should be subscribed to by anyone fabbing sheetmetal on an A.
