First off, I got all this stuff on Saturday. But, I have heard about this stuff since last fall and it finally all came together.

I did not buy it, but I am the one to get them running and go thru the parts and pieces.

For the record, the Roadster was in a newer barn, the blue Coupe was sitting in the garage in the same spot since 1970 when the original high school kid stopped driving it.

The '29 oval windowed coupe, the chassis and all the parts where in the barn in the pasture but luckily on concrete floors.

All the parts, pieces, engines, fenders, doors, carbs, speedo cables, yes all that and a ton more came from one guy.

So the story goes something like this....

The guy this stuff came from is the high schooler. He is know retired. His dad was restoring the Roadster in the early eighties and it is almost competed but unfortunately he passed.
The blue coupe has a B motor and Hydraulic brakes. The dad put it together with the son for a first car. Even painted that blue color in the driveway of the house.

He graduated somewhere in the early 60's and kept driving it off and on until 1970 then parked it in the garage of his parents house.

After 43 years of his mom parking in the carport, she had enough. It has taken awhile for him to decide to let go of it all.

    Thought I would share.

Looks more like Aptos CA than Oregon. So what's the plan get them all running and then decide which ones go and which one he keeps? Looks like a good weekend! Smoke free.

Nice work Joe!!! What's the story on the castle with the pink doors? I bet you're keeping that one for yourself.

What a great find. You mentioned you did not buy them but are getting them running and going through the parts. Are they for sale? Or are the owners wanting to put them in auction or just have you get them running and keep them? Anywhich way some cool stuff and a lot of it.

I have wondered for years as to what could still be in garages and barns all across
the states that I drove through. We all know that finds like this are harder to come by,but this just proves there are still treasures to be had.

Amazing how much of this stuff is still showing up, glad to see it being rescued. My dad always said it you don't use it your just saving it for someone else. So true.

Nice find, I think for every Model A you find, you automatically get two truck loads of parts with them. Ask me how I know.

Amazing the Mother Lodes people find. If they could just spell it correctly, instead of Mother Load. Shoulda paid more attention in English class, I guess.

Just doin' my part to dispel the myth that people who like cars are illiterate.

I used this website and could not find the word "shoulda."

Now do your part to change our view of you being a wise ass, grammar policing jerk. :D

Well let's get it back on track!

I really wanted to just show there is more out there.
And for guys like me, early 30's, even something sitting since the late sixties and early seventies is still old, that is over three decades.

I plan on getting the roadster going. The right rear fender was stolen by a family members friend a long time ago. I found the drivers one. The oil is extremely clean and the motor in it was rebuilt. I think I need to clean the points, put in a new battery and I really feel it will can off.

That car will get sold and some of the parts will as well.

As far as the Coupe goes, well I have my eye on that and will try to end up with it.

I don't know what it will take to make it roadworthy. The brakes are all but locked up on it right now.

I don't want and did not intend for this to be an add to get this stuff sold. Please PM me if you want something.

Those of you that know me, know that this stuff is easy for me to pedal locally.
And I also use the classifieds here as well.

I just think the story is cool, and I actually got pictures of "The Barn."

The cob job coupe with the aluminum roof has an oval window on the pass side.

Is the models that have that use a metal roof like that that would have been covered or is it a homade roof?

I meant no offense. I will admit that I was, however, a wise @$$, as any of my friends will tell you, just giving you a hard time.

Also, I neglected to comment on the find, which is awesome. It's always cool when stuff like this is discovered.

And "shoulda" can be found here: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/shoulda :D

When I bought my recent one (for the body) the brakes were locked... dragging it freed the front ones.
It had been put away with the emerg brake on, which froze, I cut the rod, dragged it, and they freed up.

It winched up onto the trailer fine, when it came off the trailer I hit the brake and now it doesn't want to roll hardly at all.

I know they need gone thru to drive it on the road.

    Hey A Rodder,
Well...good news/bad news, regarding the oval window.
This was a rare model (maybe called special coupe?). Anyway, some talented model Aer with a yearning for that model...and with some special parts stash, would give that car a 'restoration' as they are , as said, rare.
Bad news is that the parts to restore is are somewhat hard to acquire....so check thru everything for the other round window AND iron supports/wood,etc. Hm, looks like they never threw anything away....so I'm betting that the parts are there:) !
And, no they didn't come with aluminum roof...but I'd bet it's waterproof:D ! Good luck with your tremendous find !

I thought Chris found all the neat stuff in the NorthWest, great find! There will be more finds and sales like this as collectors get older. Good to see the cars getting new homes and the former owners happy with the deal. Bob

Since I've been on the HAMB, every time I go out of town, I'm looking at barns and old buildings off the highway. Seeing stuff like this makes me feel good that I'm not just day dreaming and wasting my time.

Good luck with getting them going. Truly amazing story.
