So, I have a 1955 ford ranch wagon. One of my problems is the fuel tank. It leaks and I want to replace it. I can't find one for the station wagon. My question is, is there a fuel tank from another year that I could drop in?? And my second question is, what engine mounts will I need to use for a 302 engine swap. I already have the 302, I just need some direction. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. Thanks!!!
Hey bud, you should check out the 52-59 Ford social group for all kinds of good info. A ton of us have done SBF swaps and have all kinds of good info that will help. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=332 Also, check out the link in my signature for the FAQ page, where a bunch of us have compiled some of the most common topics in one place. There are a few options for stock mounts that will bolt a 302 into your car with very minor modifications. There's a lot of variation in cars this old, so it varies from car to car and what transmission you want to use, what year of engine, what accessories, etc. I'm using '63 Falcon 260 mounts in mine to get it to sit lower so my T5 transmission would clear the tunnel, but '80s Lincoln/Mustang mounts are another popular choice.
