Plenty of us. I'm inside the loop. Skyrodder, what part of town you in? Some other Houston HAMBers have been kicking around the idea of some kind of gathering....but way out in the burbs.
That's the thing. I donwana go to the burbs. I suggest some "clasic" place to gather with "clasic" hot rods....like Lucky Burger or even 59 diner on Shepard. OR the West Alabama Ice House! Yep, that's it...Ice House!
I'm just west of the Heights, barely inside the North loop. But my 2 garages are outside of Navasota,on 5 acres, that is where all my old trucks are.We do need to get together, I usually meet HAMBers at swapmeets.
Jabber here on the HAMB, lives on the outskirts of the Heights. Lucky is the Alabama Ice House located between Shepard and Kirby? If so I heard it's a great place to drink some cold ones!! -eddie
Close. It is just a block or two down Alabama from Shepard. Its been there since 1928 or so...and it is a totally great place to hang out, show off your ride and drink some cold ones!
Well, no one will make you go at gun point or anything...I think... I would think it would be fun to just have some informal type of cruise night gathering thing once in a while at some cl***ic joint.

yeah it would be cool to meet some where , there was a nice diner that opened up under the peirce elevated a few months ago, i p***ed by the other day it was already for sale... i'll keep looking for some places for you guys to consider... cool?
Historic 1st Ward here. Why don't you guys meet in MY neck of the woods - like the Pigstand on Washington.
I don't mind the Pig Stand but it would be nice to have a beer with you HAMBers, and I think the West Alabama Ice House might be just the joint for it. skyrodder I'm working on, and sometimes drivin', a 58 Chevy Apache.
Lawdale area here. Alabama Ice House is the place to meet. Fri nights, free Hot Dogs. What date? Sean Reefer is playing on 10/15 6pm. (awesome traditional country band) Anyone ?
Band and free dogs sounds great, but Fridays that place is packed! I suggest like a Sunday or Saturday afternoon. That way there will be plenty of parking right in front and on the side for our jalopies.
Sean Reefer on 10/15 @ 6 is on a Sat. Not to crowded then. I`ll be there, will drag some friends also.
Dude! This is where I'm going to be...and you should too! http://www.rockabillyrodreunion.com/index.shtml
I second the Alabama Icehouse. Great place to hang, but you can forget parking within a block of it unless you arrive at 3pm.
I'm over here in Sugar Land... Just laid down some green ones for a '61 Ranchero yesterday, drove it back from Kyle (just south of Austin). Got lots of sweet ideas for this baby!
