Anyone have pictures of your rides either now or from the past when we put dumps on sticking out behind the front tires under the fender with the 3 bolt cap. You could open up the dumps without crawling under the car and they looked cool when they were capped. Thinking of putting some on my 63.5 galaxie when i redo the exhaust pretty soon.
That is exactly what I talking about, post some pictures from underneath, did you use some flex tubing?
Back in early 60s we wlded gas filler necks onto exaust and juust used gas caps . easy on easy off. Problem was gasket burn out then they would rattle. sometimes if they were on and you droped a gear you might blow them off into the ditch.
I had done that myself on a 58 i had back then, a lot of people driving chev pickups were probably upset their gas caps were borrowed Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
old school cool. That car is too much with the M/T style tri-ribs, thin whites, scallops and dumps. Scallops predate me by just a few short years, so I did not do those, but I had the other things you have, back then
Don't have any photos, but back in the 60s I remember a 63 Impala with 2" water pipe with screw on caps. Ago
In the late 50's or early 60's I saw advertised the DRAG FAST COLLECTORS. They were soooo in your face. A guy ran a set on his '59 Impala at Sanford back then too. Nicely filled the rear of his front wheel well. A vender 2 years ago had a pair for sale at the Early V8 show/swap meet at the Fitchburg Air Port. Of course I didn't have enough cash on my pocket. Probably never see another pair for sale again. Has anyone got a set of these they would like to sell me? I really dig 'em!

I remember using gas tank filler pipes, don't remember what they came off of but the cap was made like a radiator cap and when the pipe got hot it expanded and got tighter, never lost them.
I did this to one side of my 56 & left the other side without the bolt. Could hardly ever get the side off with the bolt and the one without the bolt would screw right off.
late 50s early 60s we ran gas tank necks but gaskets would burn out and they would really rattle. thebolt on cap is much better.
