I'm finally going to go the March Meet or the HRR...

    1-Which is better?
    2-What's different about them?
    3-Best motel and transportation?
4-Which has better racing...which better swap meet?
5-Can you do both the racing and swap meet in one year/event?

Any other tips would be appreciated...taking the old man and brother

1- MM if you're a racer and love the racing CHRR IS ABOUT THE HISTORY
2- MM is all about the racing CHRR has racing but more History
3- Camp at the track and party like a rockstar!
    4-See #1
5- Do BOTH and never look back! No regrets! Live life at WFOT!

I prefer the hot rod reunion. My dad and I go every year because we love to see the old altereds and rails in the cacklefest on saturday nights. The racing is probably better at the March Meet though.

Coming from long distance I would suggest CHRR over MM.
MM weather is always a "**** Shoot". Odds better for better weather in Oct. vs March.
Swap meet about the same between the two. But real swap meet action in Pomona.
Like mentioned above CHRR more for historic show of cars You will see plenty of racing action.
Also like mentioned check into camping at the track. Lots goes on after racing quits. Rent a RV. Drive to the track and stay. No bother with parking and walking every day etc. Its nice to have a soft spot to take a break during the day.
If motel is desired, One on the north end of town along Hwy 99 and Olive Dr area.

  5. MM: bigger, more commercial, more crowded, better racing, more hectic, better swap.

CHHR: dripping with vintage cool, WAY more laid back.

for accommodations, stay as far from the track as you can. cheaper and less crazy.
for transportation... not sure what you mean.... just plan on getting there EARLY. by the time the gates open for the march meet on saturday, there will be a line of cars from the gate to the off ramp.

either way, friday is awesome, saturday is insane, sunday is great.

MM if you enjoy watching 600 cars racing
CHRR if you like history and 300 less cars than above
Swap meets are equal, both have the same vendors selling the same junk
    MM has CHUYS on FRI
CHRR has the Doubletree on FRI
    CHRR has Cacklefest on SAT
