Picked up this 41 Plymouth after selling my panel van. Only had to go 40 miles to get it. No 2 day trips to find my next project. It allready had a nice Hiedts frontend installed and was set up for Chevy running gear. Now normally with me being a Mopar man I would redo it and put a Mopar motor and trans in it. But a friend had a 350-350 setup that he was wanting to upgrade so I just bought it and installed it. Had to do all the usual stuff plus I installed Vintage Air. So I have had it about a month and drove it for the first time to the muffler shop today. Looks like it is going to be a real nice driving car. Still have a lot to do like interior and gl*** but it is coming along. I like to do the paint and bodywork on my cars but this one was allready finished. The bodywork is only so so and the paint is a 5 footer. But I think I will just leave it alone and have some fun with it. The guy had some parts like the headlight trim, hood ship, interior bezel and a few other trim pieces rechromed. If he would have just spent a little more on the bodywork this would have been a very nice car. Hope to have it ready to go too the Redneck Rumble. Oh ya does anyone know where I might find the headlight trimrings? Here pics of what it looked like when I got it. With the wheels that will be on it.
Looks like a great project, well done! Good to see another Plymouth build here on the Hamb, welcome to the family!
Really nice looking car. Is that a single stage paint job and what is the name of the color? I have a van I want to paint and that color might really make it pop!!!!!!!! Jimbo
ChrisBlattie in the H.A.M.B. O'Dex is the man for your gl***. His finish on the edges are second to none and he was cheaper than the local gl*** shops in my area.
Put the saltflats on just to see what it woluld look like. Her big sister waiting her turn. Next up interior
I hear ya 61. Thats the tires that came on the rims. I lowered it 1" in the rear to close up some of the gap. Here it is all together.
