Problem with dynaflow gearbox. It want pump the oil around. I have filled it up (1/2 of the total volume) and it want pump it around. No suction for the pump?? the oil sump is full, shows full on the dipstick also. Changed the gearbox with another one, and the same thing. filled 1/2 full and no movement on the oil. The car/gearbox dont work in any gears. someone who knows?? Thanks Jørn Myhre Norway <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________
If the trans was empty you will have to put more in it to start than just full on the dip stick. Add 2-3 more quarts/liters and see if it does not start to pick up the fluid. And this is another example where having a "Motor's" manual or simular would be of great help . If there is a special way of filling a empty trans the manual will tell you.
I have the manual, tells nothing about it. If i fill more it will only fill up the hole where the dipstick is. Do you think that helps? Will the higt of the oil 40cm help to start suction to the pump? Jørn M
At this point you do not have much to lose. If it does not help you are going to need someone that knows how to work on those trans.
I don't know if there is a vent in those transmissions, but most automatics have one somewhere. If it does, and that vent is plugged, if could prevent you from being able to get enough fluid into the trans.
