Got the old '55 running this week, and outside of a little idle problem, Louie is doing great.

Sigh. Two more weeks two more weeks two more weeks.

Nice Pontiac. What series is it? I know it's a Chieftain but what's with that trim below the winders on the belt line? Where's Rocky? Can you throw up a shot of the dash? The WHOLE dash?

Brandy, looks like the same trim I have on mine! (If I am looking at the same trim you are!)

Nice 55...got any shots of the interior? I love the way the lake pipes look. Can't wait to slap some on mine!

    Brandy & Rag Doll,
Thanks for the kind words, know you are both Poncho freaks too. The car is an 870 Chieftain. In between the 860 and the Star Chief. Interior is 2-tone green roll & pleated naugahyde, and the dash is pin-striped to the max, by Rick Knight, the same guy who did the Bud lizards mural on the trunk. Will get some shots of the inside posted for ya.

Ahhhhhh I'm missing so many pieces of trim that I forget time to time what's still left.............but I got that piece!:D Honey lakesides? Really? I'll let you know how they drag and grind first.

Thanks Rocky, did that dash leave you a little dry afterwards?:D I'd still like to see the whole dash, Ragdoll's says Chieftain on her's and mine says Pontiac. So I'm curious as to the difference betwixt the 860 and 870 cars. I'll show you mine if you show me yours.;)

I thought I would throw up some pics of my '55 Starchief. It's been neglected for awhile when it was "stored" at my parents place... so I now mave a mold problem in the headliner.

Originally a Texas car, it has a dealer installed air conditioning unit in the trunk, with some supa-fly plexi air ducts that vaguely resemble those early '80's hot air popcorn poppers. My mother purchased this car from the original owner, a little old lady who could barely see and had problems parking this car in her garage, which had about 6 inches to spare on each side. There are several minor s****es and scars to prove it. My mother was forced to sell the car in 86 or 87, and then re-purchased in 2002 from 3rd owners widow. Anyways, since I have relocated to my place, I put in a new battery and the car fired right up, even though it hadn't run in over three years. Now it just needs brake work. Slowly but surely... I'm hoping to be able to take it to Paso next year. We shall see.

hahaha! Ahh poor poor C-More! I know we have hijacked this thread but gosh I love all the pictures! Wished more people would post pics of their 55 Tin Indians. Here is my 55 Chieftain that will be done in 2 weeks. I'm sanding her down today to repaint over that ****ty primer (mostly because I'm tired of wearing it. ) and my 55 Star Chief Catalina. My Catalina didn't have the seats in it when I bought it, so since I've been ****** a Lincoln Conti for Lowsquire and I have a thing for the seats, I scored myself a set. Dunno if they fit just yet.....but I'll MAKE THEM!!:D The car has been pinstriped in and out *the outs coming off* by Manual Cisneros......he's a hamb'r now. Then in a new fancy color she goes..........see ya in two weeks!

Wow, Brandy,Love those pic's of your 55's!! When I saw the dash shot's had to do a double take, thought they were the one's I took about 30 minutes ago, until I blinked. Anyway, will get mine posted, soon as I can get 'em downsized. Even tho' I been an electronic genius all my life, this computer **** still puzzles me at times. Too much partying in my mis-spent youth I guess.

Named it after the Bud Lizard, ya' know, the one on the trunk!! Hell, Phil, I also got Rottie pups named Jazz Abella and Max Amillion. LOL. Brandy, here's a couple of shots of the dashboard. Mine had the PONTIAC script on the speaker grille, but it's been missing ever since I've had the car. BTW if anyone could find that, I'd give a very reasonable price. Diff between the 860 and 870 is that beltline trim that you mentioned in an earlier post.

Weeeeeell, I dunno about rottie puppies or lizards, but once I had a boyfriend I called ***hole.........his real name escapes me...:p ....

That is a WHOLE load of green. Is that dealer air?Or some strange underdash doo hickey you've installed? Wonder why Ragdoll's dash says Chieftain? I'd trade you that script for a radio knob.:D

Geez... my dash looks plain compared to yours with all that nice pinstriping. But then again, I have both of my radio knobs AND my speaker grille script (just messing with you guys). 'Course the radio doesnt work... but who's does?

Well, I'll try to answer your qwee-chuns in some kind of order here Brandy. First off, Hell, yeah, I'll dig thru my parts and find those spare knobs for you. I'll love you forever for that swap. Secondly, I may know your old BF, or at least be related to him. That was my 2nd exe's favorite name for me. Three, that's a dealer installed air unit. It was put on the car in '55 as an option, back then it was either that, or the one like 1Lowchief has in his. BTW 1Low, the radios in the old Tin Injuns are easy to fix. First, try banging on the ******** tube. If that doesn't work, pm me and I'll fill you in on a few other tricks. G'nite for now all.

Oh yeah?! Well I'll see your knob and raise you a chrome glove box door, a hardtop AND 2 less doors.:D

Uh huh, the script's not a big deal to me, I planned on yanking it off for OTHER stuff to stick on there. SO lemme know!
