Anyone have them? I would love to see some pictures. These would be a pretty neat for my hotrod. http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Brakes/lambert.htm
i think i have a dealer packed about them but i dont really know where it is i'll check around tonight
The 50 Town & Country Convertible also used those oddball discs. There is such a small original production of cars using those things it will be difficult to find a complete set front and rear. But they stopped those big monsters so on a 28-36 roadster they would definitely give you at least 9 cents change from that stop on a dime!
The French 4-speed was an option in 1960-61. Like 8 cars got it in '60. The bubble dash cars (60-62) were like 99.5% automatic trans - manual trans cars had to be a floor shift, the bubble used the space a column shifter would have taken up. They exist, but they're almost as hard to find as paris hilton's virginity. The disc brake deal is news to me. But I've seen pictures of these brakes before, in a Motors Manual I think. I'd research the reasons behind why they did away with these before I tried them on a driver. It may be they never got all the bugs out of them -
hi try this link http://www.curbsidecl***ic.com/blog/1950-chrysler-crown-imperial- four-wheel-disc-brakes-standard-but-not-like-modern-discs/
seems an early 50's Cali roadster was running them....I'll ask the unk when I speak to him tonight....
spoke to the uncle who does remember the mopar ones - he said they sure looked like a copy of the Kimont? kits that were offered at the time... the car was a 32 Ford cpe that had them on it fenderless and chaneled not chopped - a guy with the last name of Brown had built it...he thought a Cecil Steep? had bought it and then it was lost over time...a Northern Cali car....
