I am looking to change out the motor mounts in my 1937 ford pickup. The truck currently has a Ford 289 motor, but quite frankly, the motor mounts look like crap. So I plan to replace them while I have the truck apart.

Who makes a good weld-in mount for chassis with the steering box in the STOCK location? From the looks of it, the steering box is right where the motor mount needs to be. I’m sure I’m not the first person to run into this issue!

I would look at the cross members and mounts from Chassis Engineering Inc., some of the best chassis parts available. :)

The CE kit uses a flat plate that bolts to the block ,then a flathead biscuit to a U bracket that you weld to the frame.Because of the oil filter on a SBF you don't have any adj.The biscuit sits nearly next to the filter.Your steering might still be in the way.I used them in a 35 roadster I built yrs ago but I had a R&P steering.

I talked to Chassis Engineering yesterday and it sounds like their SBF engine mounts are recommended when combined with their GM steering box adapter plate. They are going to give me a call back today with more info.

In the meantime, any other ideas or pictures of ford 289 motor mounts?
