I've got a 56' caddy engine sitting in my shop. It's complete. A friend indentified it as the biggest of the small blocks.
I need to get an idea of what it's worth, the best place to sell it, etc.
I had another friend that was going to look into it for me but he's a busy guy, with a young baby, so I'm on my own for now.
I'll look into posting some photos and do so when I figure it out.
    thanks for your help!!!

You need to post this in the cl***ifieds here, but you`ll need more post first! You got to have so many posts here to qualify for cl***ified sales!

Is it froze up? Did it run when pulled? How long ago was it pulled? How many miles on it? Did it smoke? Use oil? How did it sound? Fill in the blanks and I can give you a good idea...

It's not locked up, I can turn it by hand some but didn't attempt to turn it a full 360degrees (didn't see any reason to at the time)
The engine was pulled by the previous owner of my shop (47'-98'). He told me that the engine ran well when it was pulled. I've found over time that what he's told me has been true.
As far as oil consumption etc. I can't be sure.

    Skidmarks,
I have a 52 Cad engine. What manual gearbox would fit it? I have been looking into a later model auto but I can't find any adaptors.

    I sold a 1957 365 w/trans for $1200.00 a couple months ago. It was a stock 13,000 mile he**** engine. I would say $500-600 for that one.

    Best Regards,

    O.k.

thanks for the feedback. Now I've got a general idea of what it's worth. Where's the best place to sell it.
I deal a lot with old vw's. Out of the cl***ifides of one VW site I sell stuff all over the world.
There's gotta be a similar site for caddy's!?!?

  12. Sent you a PM.
