I have a '37 Willys sedan WITHOUT rain gutters....makes me very wet when it rains every day (south FL). Any '38 Willys sedan was made WITH rain gutters....and I want some. Seeking advice and ideas on fabricating or buying rain gutters. I've seen the ones made for the 30-32 Fords, but they are very square-shaped. I don't think these would work well on a Willys due to the curve in the roof at the door. HELP ! ! !
Do you have a sheet metal strecher? You could fab some up. Could weld them in or I suppose you could bond or screw them in place once their made. Brake 90 then run it through the strecher to get the right curve, then fold gutter (up side) over, 180 to desiered lip, say maybe 1/4". Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Lee Kay could make you some I would think and they would be very good quality.... www.kayskustommetalworks.com
Thanky, Slimmey. I have a friend with a solo hotrod shop who has a shrinker/stretcher, plus he has a monster brake. Or perhaps I'll buy the stretcher they have in Eastwood...are those tools any good for a "gentleman" hotrodder??
second vote for lee kay.... He can probably make them cheaper then buying a stretcher cost to have it bent and all the mistakes learning. Has done some willys work for me.
My uncle bought the shrinker/strecher years ago from eastwood, I was always borrowing it, so this spring I caught it on sale and bought them myself. Use the hell out of them, they work great. If you do a lot, or if you would like to do alot, and have the money, go for it. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
