A thirteen year old dream has come true!!
Bought a Tudor a couple of weeks ago and it's the best money I've ever spent.

Drove it every day for about a week.
Ran on two an a half cylinder, leaked coolant, clutch all messed up.

In the workshop for a new clutch: took the engine out and already looks a ton better without the hood.

Gotta love them wheels :)) haha

Will become a finished hotrod one day, but planning to keep it running in the summers while getting there. Fixed the ignition, short cut between lower and upper plate and the wire inside the dizzy, not the first thing I looked at I'll tell you that!

Anyways, all open to suggestions! I am the fng and this is my first Model A.

Well, if it were mine, I'd.......

    Leave the hood and fenders
    NOT chop it
    4" dropped axle
    302 Ford
    C-6 tranny
    9" rear
    black wall tires
    crème colored wheels
crème paint with a dark brown top
    dark brown interior
    Vintage Air set-up

That would make it a nice cruiser for a small family.

Thanks Polecat but it's gonna stay until it break's.
I'll be tuning that sucker to get all the 40hp back. Then probably add high compression heads, a cam and maybe headers and a intake of I go all crazy. Won't be fast but if I can squeeze 60-70 hp out of it in the end I'll be more than happy for what it is.

First drive with new clutch innstalled, ran great ! So great it threw a rod bearing. I was doing about 50mph which should'nt be a problem right?
    Wondering about either
    1. Opening the oil pan, remove some shims and doing an easy fix
    2. Pulling the engine and rebuild, while innstalling an unknown condition banger to get me thru the summer.

An "easyfix" sounds pretty old school and cool to me.

    Here's the old rod.

Got 4 sets of pistons/rods. Used the foil method and one rod was good to go :) I've been driving it daily like a grandma for a week now and loving it.

Tried to bend/turn the front spring without heat.

It broke, and I welded it back together. Mounted it in stock configuration but only left three springs. Got about 1" of spring travel. About what I need, looking forward to a drop axle. But the stance is 100 times better already.

These are for sale with drums so they fit my model A, should I buy them?

    My 2 cents
Find a new main leave for your front spring. If you can't find one I might have one in the shed.
There are a bunch of threads on doing it the right way.

One of these days I'm going to have an A. Would like a p/u or maybe a 4 door. Banger and all, change to hyd. brakes with taller gears and drive it.
Followed a 30/31 coupe yesterday on the way home. I think I was the only one besides my wife behind them who enjoyed it.
    Good luck and keep posting.

We have had a blast with the car last week. Visited A-bombers old style weekend in uddevalla, Sweden. Car ran great. Used a lot of water, got three leaks in the radiator, about a gallon of oil and got 20 mpg. I don´t know what all of you are getting with your model A´s but 20 seems ok with me. Its about 350miles all together, with a shabby car like this and not getting into trouble, I`d say it´s pretty good and I must have done something right. Had to retorque two screws, that´s all the wrenching that was needed.

I got myself a set of 35 wire wheels yesterday. Will put firestones on them. 7.50 rear (considering larger and open for suggestions) and 6.00 front. (Hate it when it´s to small but is 6.00 to big ?) I´ve looked at alot of tire threads, 6.00 fronts and 7.50 looks just right.

Also went to a big family get together. What´s up with all the commenting on whatever is wrong with the car. I don´t get that. It´s a 82 year old car that has not been restored, what do they expect ? Anyways, they all seemed to like the car alot, and it got a lot of positive feedback too.

Great car all the way around.
I ran 750's and 600's on two of my A's.
Unless the car is real low all the way around, I really kind of dislike the really small front tires.

Cool car, when you gonna give it a haircut?
