A friend at work has a 29 Roadster with a nice 59AB flatty. I will post pictures tonight, but I was wondering if it is worth anywhere near the 12K she wants. Body is all steel, motor has offenhauser heads and intake with dual strombergs. Everything else is pretty much stock. Needs the interior done to be an excellent car. Pictures soon. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200307483321033&l=9e87f242f4
A new Primered Brookville cost $6k & a Rebuild with Goodies Flathead can cost $6k. Yeah it's a good deal
And an A highboy with '32 truck grille puts it in a special category..........that alone makes it worth the entry ticket!
Ya gotta be kidding. You're not likely gonna find a better deal than that. You'd be lucky to find a good original one for that price.
I'm not an early "hot rod" guy, more into the muscle. I appreciate all the help. Yes, it is the one in the fakebook pics. Engine shot- https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200307468320658&l=44ae0a7ef7 This is the part that has me worried. A short body like this might appeal to a select few https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200307468800670&l=237408ff67
Wait. Don't tell me your just going to buy it to flip it. That last sentance worries me. If im wrong I appologize, but it you said you were a muscle car guy. If that's the case, let a hot rodder buy and get a good deal. There are plenty of camaros out there.
looks like its got a full flow oiling system too. if your just flipping then I agree, let a hot rodder grab it. if you plan on driving it for a while and getting into a real car (eww muscle cars...) then get it
Hold on girls, I've got an all original 50 Fordor with an 8BA and a 56 Ford Town Sedan with a 292. When I say early, I mean 20's - 30's stuff. I "know" muscle, as I grew up on Mustangs and currently have a 440 Horse 2011 GT. That said, I LOVE flattys and I'm not sure I'd flip the car, as much as get it completely sorted out for the next person.
I'd rather eat a **** sandwich than sit in a Camaro. The thing is, this car has been for sale for OVER A YEAR.
More of a modified I would say. I guess you could put a bed on it and call it a roadster pick up (RPU.) Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App ****a!!!
I'd buy it for 8k maybe 9k max. Then spend about $2500 on ebay for Real Roadster Quaters/Subframe/deck lid/etc. well maybe 3k. Then you'll have a nice car. The door forward looks OG roadster, the back half in homemade. A stock bed WONT fit.
A lot of nice parts but it ain't a roadster,,28/29 cowl..not sure about the back but the work is pretty good,,the Deuce pickup grill shell is a plus. HRP
Oh...not a roadster...despite your "well what would you call it then?" Disregard my previous statement. And yeah, helping someone with a p***ion for a particular car they'd like to buy is a pleasure. But it doesn't sit well with me either, trying to help someone determine a fair price to pay for a car that they only plan on buying to re-sell. Oh...excuse me..."completely sort out for the next guy." Especially if you wanna call us "girls".
I'd say an RPU is a roadster...this one is cobbled together but appears well done. Needs a bed for sure IMO. There was a build thread here on the HAMB a while back - 28-29 RPU tub stretched with a 30-31 back piece.
give em 5 k for it build the motor and a bed for it and drive it like you stole it.then part out that pos mustang
Buddy, Relax, Just having some fun. Truth is, I fall in love with every Ford I buy. My p***ion is working on them, getting them on the road and out of the garage. I just don't want to lose money doing it. Sorry. And Thanks everyone, i really appreciate the input. The 46 in the pictures is for sale also, but I know what that is worth. Peace
Ahhhhh...sorry. Too stressed. First half of my day went great. Second half ****ed...lol. Sorry. Good luck to you.
