My son and I hit the huge 127 Yard Sale event the 1st week of August, and I bought some cool older car parts at a booth where the young man said these parts had been from the estate of his buddie's father. He knew nothing about them. I looked around for a bit, and ended up buying nearly everything automotive he had. Below is a photo of some of the stuff on my workbench: A**** the parts was a brand new aftermarket camshaft, brand new in its original cardboard tube. The tube is branded "INTERCEPTOR," with a label featuring specs. The cardboard tube also has some markings and scribbles on it, probably from when it sat on the shelf in an old speed shop. Nearly all of the books, manuals, and parts the young man had were for Fords, and I ***UME that this is a high performance aftermarket cam for a V8 Ford...probably a Y-Block. Is anyone familiar with this brand of camshaft? Can you estimate its age? Any idea of which engine it fits? It seems to be black oxide coated, with zero wear on the finish anywhere, and no rust. I find it really interesting. I will have to ask some my old-timer racers, cam grinders, and engine builders at SEMA. Hopefully one of them, or one our HAMB experts can give me some insight on this cool old bumpstick!
