    love your posts SouthUrn, it's like you have use of a time machine to get people posing (in a good way) with their cars;
    Singer? and the Vintage before it
    an OM? or IF?

    1953 Singer 1500 Tourer and an OM, probably a Tipo 665 of around 1928 / 29.
    Not sure whether the Singer photo is posed. People used to bale out and picnic by the side of the road in the '50s in the UK. Very little traffic in rural areas.

    My wife has requested that no further photos of scantily clad women be posted.

    Take no corrective action however, I don't listen to her either.

    NEWSFLASH: The Society of Women Against Good Luck get ready to release dozens of black cats into the streets. Causing bad luck across the region. :D

    What an amazing collection this thread is! Every time I return to the HAMB I find six, or eight, or twelve more pages of photographs, that I have to backtrack from last page to catch up on.
    Truthfully, I hope that Vintage shots from days gone by! will never have a "last page".

    I like your caption better than the one with this picture in the Los Angeles Public Library archive which states that movie producer/director Roger Corman issued a casting call for black cats for one of his movies. Apparently, every black cat in L.A. showed up.

    I'm guessing that the Singer picnic shot was taken in Australia, based on the Eucalypts (gum trees) in both left foreground and across the track. Fence construction looks to be Aussie as well

    absolutely agree (but - looking at the range of photos the net has made possible - the world wide dispersal of gums never ceases to amaze me ...)
