Looking at the photos you should think long and hard before attempting a rebuild of this car. I know from experience that they aren't the easiest cars to source parts for. I have a 98 coupe that I have rebuilt and are well into a body off frame build of a rusty 98 convert. Doors will interchange with 88 coupe (or convert) although exterior trim holes are different. Front guards, bonnet, boot are the same between models (except trim holes). No one makes repro panels that I have found that are any good (floor, sills etc).
As to numbers, 19,400 98 coupes, 43,000 88 coupes, 8500 98 converts were produced, so the sport coupes are reasonably rare but not super rare.
Good luck with it whatever you decide to do.

  3. Well the top is so rusted out I'm thinking maybe trying to do a carson top? I have never even attempted anything like this in my life so not sure how it will all pan out. I am ***uming that if I went the carson top rout the car would need to be braced when completed for extra strenght. How would I go about going this?

Also not concerned about the trim holes this will be a kustom and not a resto. Thanks though for all you're help guys!

P.S. anymore info or pics on this car I am in love with it...
