try this one.. 1967 Chevy II Super Sport - 4 speed Hot Rod!! BIN:5100$ It probably is a scam.. I just like to go on and check out the cars and noticed it and something didnt seem right.... Thanks Nate
Here is the auction: http://www.3rdrocktraders.com/shop/prodimages/ebaymotorswseBayViewctgrd0.htm And I am gonna have to say it's a scam.
yea..thats what i was thinking to about his feedback record too...but he has some feedback which thru me off?? I dunno.... thanks Nate
There was a 50 chopped ford coupe on ebay last week, buy it now 6500.00. Came with a 383 stroker under the hood, all the gl*** in the car, air bagged, custom interior-easily a 10-15k car. Emailed the guy and of course he was overseas with the car but the buy it now was the price shipped to your door. Auction was pulled within 24 hrs yet I recieved emails from the guy a day after the auction was no longer. If it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true. Mootz
It really does have the feel of a scam. As someone posted earlier, part of the description is for a mopar. They have no location listed. And if you look at the feedback, it's all from sellers. He hasn't sold anything on eBay. None of the feedback is recent, so there's no way to check is this guy just bought a ****pile of really cheap items to build up his feedback rating. This is why I have a real problem bidding on eBay for any cars I can't take a look at in person or at least have a trusted friend look at. Buyer beware.
Yup, they're s****ing the ebay site. You can't get there from ebay.com. Also, a real ebay number has 10 digits, not 11!
If you take that last 0 off, it kind of works. It will direct you to the auction which is on the external site. Something definitely screwy. Someone (preferably someone who would actually be interested in the car) should probably e-mail eBay, so they can investigate whther someone has hijacked part of their site.
I would suggest someone makes up a new Ebay name, then bids on the car to stick this guy with the $80 fees, but if it's not on Ebay's website, then who knows. Certainly a scam.
I just realized that as soon as I emailed the above guy about the ford, ebay sent me an email saying that people are using their site to solicit email. Basically, they respond to your email and when you respond to theirs, they'll sell your address. They are pretty on top of it, they pulled the auction w/in 12 hours. Mootz
Better idea. Someone should email him telling him that you are an overseas buyer's agent and that you wish to buy the car with a US postal money order for 10K and that they could send you the extra money from the check directly to you after you cash it. That'd be funny.
emailed the guy and he just happens to live in germany.. And all the b.s. about bid pay and stuff like that..knew it was to good to be true...lol...Thanks Nate
I like Squablow's idea. Send them fake money orders. They do it to me all the time...***holes!!! Yeah, this is a scam for sure. I have seen hyjacked accounts before, this looks like one of them. I hope the guy likes the email I just sent him. Here is it: "I would like to pay with Monopoly money. I will send you $1,000,000, please p*** GO 4 times, stick the dice up your *** and send me $4,000,000 back so I can pay for the shipper. Then diss***emble the car and send me a piece at a time. I will pay 50% of the shipping. Once you have sent me the last piece, I will have my pet monkey throw **** at your mother and spit into the wind. The car will put itself back together and humpty dumpty will crawl back up the wall. All the kings horses and all the kings men will play Nintendo again. Thank you, looking forward to a long, drawn out transaction in which both parties are unhappy."
It is also an ID scam, once you sign in with your id on the fake auction, they steal your ebay ID. If you did happen to sign in, go change your p***word, if you still can.
