Another thing I did was extend the hood because it is on a 32 frame. I moved the grill/radiator back 1" so I had about 1.5" to fill. I'm also going to use hood sides so those get extended too. I used the full ht on the hood side (because it is channeled a little), I will just welded the hinge tubes up higher, then I will cut off the excess on the hood top.. see the 3rd picture.. the blue tape is what will be cut off.

I wanted to lean the windshield back, so I cut a V cut on the bottom uprights. I still need to make a brace behind it to attach the screw...

Got the brake pedal assembly tacked in place so now the body is ready to come off the frame. Going to do the welding on the underside of the body and finish the body work. In the meantime the chassis will be powder coated gloss black after a few tweaks to that.

Wow, this roadster is really coming along! Going to look real sharp when it's all black... Especially with those wheels.

This is a one sweet roadster. I was just wondering what colour are you going to paint it if any? The original green?

Actually when taking the paint off the original color was a dark blue, but it will eventually be all gloss black. I might run the body in black primer for a little while...

The chassis is now powder coated gloss black. The front frame horns are now boxed. As you can see my boys think it looks pretty cool. I'm having the chassis all put together by a professional while I get the body ready. As you can see I was working on the door overlap gap. I just cut the door jam and made it meet the door... much better... I didn't take a good before picture, but it was about 1/4" gap in the center of the door. Hopefully get the rest of the body in primer in the next few weeks.

Most of the floor welded in. I'm waiting on the front floor until I cut the master cyl hole (it's just cleco'ed in for now). The trunk floor has to wait until I get it back on the chassis, the coil over mounts are above the floor line. My first try at bead rolling the "X"... didn't turn out too bad, not perfect... never see it under the seat anyway.

Exhaust done... I might modify a few things down the road, I still need to add the dumps out the side. Put the body back on the frame again to cut the brake pedal hole, master cyl hole and make the trans tunnel.

The body is back off the frame, finished welding on the bottom side of the floor. I primed, seam sealed and painted the underside.

Put a few coats of filler primer, here is a before and after... I have it all blocked down, need to fix a few spots then satin black. I don't have the patience to do gloss black yet... need to get this baby on the road! I already painted the firewall gloss black and the interior satin black.

Sweet find and build. I'm 34 and I've got a 29 roadster project and a little boy on the way.

Great work keep it up. My 29 is about a month away from being on the road in Davidson.
