So I’m having breakfast with some friends Saturday. My friend Bob tells me about these 2 old cars he bought in Pasadena Texas.

His brother is friends with the wife of the nephew whose uncle is the executor of the estate, (you still with me?) of his recently deceased mom. The 2 cars have been sitting in an old garage for over 20 years and they need to clean the property up to sell. Bob has already seen the cars and tells me makes and models and years and how the people that lived in the house were pack rats and saved everything.

Both cars were piled with junk in the garage, boards, garden equipment, trash and more trash. One car has to be moved out just to dig through the junk to get to the other car.

Bob is going to meet a wrecker there this Saturday afternoon. I ask if I can go along. He says that it’s just a bunch of junk that no one would want anyway and it will take all day and I’ll get really dirty. I said no problem, sounds like fun.

Here’s an old barn on the property, (the cars aren’t in there)

but this box of old full oil cans were.

Now here is the garage where the cars are.

The first car to be pulled out and the prize of this deal is a 1957 Chrysler Windsor 2dr. It has the poly motor not the hemi. Frown

Strange thing is that it has 4 headlights and is a 57. I thought 58 was the first year for 4 headlights on ALL US cars?

The other car is a 1962 Ford Fairlane 500 4dr with a 6cyl and 3 on the tree. Last registered in 1980 with an immaculate interior and no rust.

Here’s more pics of the cars and some of the junk they were going to throw away. I also got some extension cord and air hoses for the shop.

A kool thing is that the house in front of the garage was home to some crackhead punk kids that got kicked out months ago. The brother of my friend Bob is very religious and didn’t care much for the punk posters and other kool stuff that I got. :)

There is an old Coldpoint chest freezer that works if anyone in the Houston area is interested and wants move that big heavy ****er out of the house.

Well a good Saturday spent digging through dead people’s junk. What did you do?

  8. You could order them as an option in the states that allowed them.

I love '57 Windsors, cleanest of the Exner designs. From the ages of 13 to 17 I lusted after and all red, beat to hell '57 Windsor 2dr HT in the back lot of a VW repair shop. Dod wouldn't let me buy it. My mom had a 62 Fairlane the exact same model and colors.

    Nice finds.

That '57 is a ForwardLook masterpiece. Whatcha gonna do with it? I've got a line on a local barn find, hopefully it'll pan out as good as yours did.

  13. So where did the cars end up going? I hope ther is a good ending to the story coming next.

These cars don't belong to me. They are both for sale. There are 3 people in line fer the chrysler, including me. The ford is available. Both cars have ***les and the ford has the keys.

I'm goin to look at them today. They've been pressured washed so should look different.

Put me on the list for the Chrysler. I can come pick it up too, if that's any kind of a bonus (DFW area).

I wouldn't say it's my favorite Forward Look car, but damn if it's not too far. And yes, all '57 Mopars came standard with single headlights and on DeSotos and Chrysler, a dual headlight setup was optional. The singles look kind of funny IMO. Check out what this guy is doing with his '58 (super cheapie Dodge-nosed Chrysler).

My dad's last Chrysler was a '57 Imperial with a 392. Damn, that car would roll on the open road. I didn't think much of it as it was a big car. I was lusting for a T-Bird or a Corvette at the time. Bet you can guess what my chances were of getting either at 14 years old. Actually there were 2 chances. SLIM and NO:eek: :D

I had a 56 Chevy and a 69 Corvair in my garage. Other than different cars, my garage looks the same.

We put a battery in the Ford and bumped it over. The headlights work, horn works, the under dash a/c fan blows, radio works, wipers work.

Bob wants $2500 for the Ford. Clear Texas ***le and keys. More pics of the car at www.picturetrail.com member album is outkastcc. It's at the bottom of the page.

It has 5 lug 13" wheels on it and I think a 9" rearend. Drop in a sbf and have fun.

Man that's just a sweet *** way to spend a Saturday... I can respect a man that likes to dig around old **** all day in dead people's garages.

Found a couple of panels and a 40 something dodge sitting behind a service station in downtown nashville. Going tomorrow to see about a trade. No one knew they were there except the owner of the station. Not found in a garage but still along the same lines. only this time its in a city and not in the country or burbs.

the fairlane will have an 8" rear in it. either a 3.00 or 3.50 gear (my 3 speed has the 3.50 gear) same brakes and suspension as a 65 mustang. I see that one has AC and power steering on it too. Looks pretty solid.....I am jealous.
