Anyone interested in going to the Vargo Dragway Reunion in Perkasie,PA? Saturday November 5th 9-4pm (Rain date Sunday November 6th 9-4pm)

Vargo was around from 1960-1969. All types of g***ers and drag cars ran there. Google it and you'll see some cool stuff.

The Magnetos CC and some of the Priate Kustomz guys will be there along with the guys from the OverTheHill Gang CC and some others. Anyone from the Hellcats interested in making an appearance?? It be cool to see some of you cats from Jersey. Always nice to see you guys, macungie, etc! The show has a variety of stuff,...from what I've seen locally and knowing the guys around here, there should be a lot of nostalgia rods coming this year. Plus many guys bring rods that had dragged there back in the day which is pretty cool.

Here's the link to Vargo Dragway:

It will give you the adderss, directions, and a link for the registration form.

Back in the woods, off of PA Route 313 just outside of Quakertown, PA (about 30 minutes south of Allentown, PA) sits a strip of pavement that used to host some of the coolest cars back in the 60s. Its history man, Vargo Dragway, 1960 - 1969! I'm surprised at how many people don't know about this place, but there's a lot of cool stuff on it on the web about it, hell even a video:

Every year the show keeps getting bigger and bigger. Anyone that went to Kahunaville for the "Hot Rod Hoedown" would have ventured into the Autorama there and seen the historic drag car right inside the entrance. One of the cars they are restoring that had run at Vargo back in the day. I believe they're actually working witht he Boy Scouts as they restore a drag car! Cool to see people p***ing on history ot the next generation tying to keep 'em away from tuners!! LOL!

**Registration for the show is $12 bcuks pre-registration,...$15 at show, (all the cash collected goes to local youth organizations, Boy Scouts and Race Against Drugs) So if you have the cash, don't be a cheap ***! Also, if you want to be a vendor they have spaces availible, swap stuff etc. If cash is tight (we've all been there) and need be, you can always just park off the strip and you don't have to pay anything. The car show outside the car show kind of thing.

**Any questions, call Joe McNalley: 215-674-3067 who is heading this event up. You can also feel free to email myself also, or PM me. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

That might be pretty cool to check out. Thanks.

I think I might have to go out to pick up a motorcycle engine around then as well. Maybe do it all at once.

Hey if you're around then hit it. Its pretty cool to see that in the middle of nowhere is this cool old ghostown of a dragstrip. Just the strip, but there used to be an old gas station/hotel from the early 1920's up the street that still has its old Texaco sign and the place used to have stands, etc. Unfortunatley the old lady who owns the texaco sign won't sell it,....she's a bit senile!! Supposedly a rich old bag as a few locals have put it!...lol.

Yeah I thought it was weird, how its been going on now for like 36 years and its obviously just a low-key show....don't know why, I guess to keep out the goofballs,...who knows??

Yeah man, p*** the info along to whomever you know,...get a caravan for all I care!! I'm just lending a hand to the one guy I know who is helping to put this event on. Good guy, he was up in CT for the Road Agents Show. If everyone I know shows up it should be a good time! The more the merrier!
    Vargo ...Nov. 5th!
