First Thanks to Ryan and everybody that put this on! It was great and I cant wait to do it again! I have wanted to go for years and it never works out. Usually my wife runs in 10K race that weekend so I go to cheer her on. (I raced dirt track cars for years and I dont think she ever missed a race) This year she told me to go ahead and go. So I thought I would try to make it back in time watch her race first thing Sunday morning, even though she said I didnt need to. We (my buddy Marty and I) left early Friday morning. We made our first gas stop just outside of St. Louis Mo. We then made it to Cuba Mo and stopped for BBQ at the Missouri Hick BBQ. After seeing the great things that Denise posted about the place we had to stop there. It was every bit as good as she said too. Next the next few hours on the road we stopped for gas at Lebanon Mo. and then at the Swap in Springfield. We ran into Big Ken there and a few other guys from the HAMB. We spent a couple hours there and then hit the road again to Joplin. About 10 hours after we left home, we pulled in to the hotel in Joplin. A couple hours later Mel (youngrodder) and his son arrived and met up with us. We then spent the next several hours partying in the parking lots and looking at the cars. We ran into Denise (Hotrodladycrusr) and Steve (Monster Flake) and had a great time. The morning came too soon but we were up and heading out to go to Rynos place for doughnuts and hang out a bit then on to the track. Once at the track I got signed up for the Yay Hoos Cup. I made 4 runs and somehow managed to win all four. Even though I wasn't even close to being fast enough for the Yay Hoos cup, I had a BLAST!!! Now the hard part, I need to haul ass home ASAP, try to get some sleep and go watch my wife run her race. Off we go. We stopped only long enough to gas up and take a rest room break that was it. 6 hours and 400 miles later I pulled into my driveway. I got about 3 hours of sleep and got to watch my wife set a personal best time! The smile on her face made the long trip home all worthwhile. Here are some pictures from the trip. Good BBQ Finally almost there. I texted Plowboy to tell him he should be here because they even have a goat. A couple of my favorite HAMB people Following youngrodder to Ryno's place Sat morning. youngrodder's sweet coupe Seriously, it says I won. This coupe was a BEAST! Headed home and rolling. Everybody needs a traveling buddy to keep them entertained My home exit. The longest pretty much non stop trip to date in my truck this is pretty much how I felt by then too. MADE IT ALL WORTH WHILE!
What a great story. Thanks for sharing your roadtrip with us. What tough decision to make the trip or not. Was cool meeting you,.even if only briefly.
Thanks for the story. Saw your truck and really liked it. It's nice to associate a face and story with it. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

Ryno thanks for having us, what a life saver to the guys that needed it. Love your shop to BTW. Thanks Gary always good to see you too. Thanks. Good meeting you too. I need to get up there (Omaha) sometime, every thing I see come out of Omaha sure seems to be bad ass!
it was a pretty good weekend! i missed aaron and of course, johnny sparkle. it's not quite a party without those guys...
Looks like fun!! Congrats to your wife for making the run! Sorry I stole Aaron for the Relix Riot show. Ha ha
Sounds like you guys had a good time too. Aaron said the Museum is way cool. I wish these two events weren't on the same weekend.
That's great that you finally got to make it down there AND make it back for Sandys race! Steve, I fixed your statement for you.
Glad you made it down and back in one piece Mike. I got to see two of your runs even though I didn't get a chance to talk to you Saturday. Next year we ought to organize a caravan from our area. Might be hard to do with everyone's weird schedules. Mel's coupe sure is sweet. Makes me want a coupe even more. Yours is looking good too.
Yes that's much better Nick That would be good Lee if it could work out, sorry we didn't get to talk more.
It was great to see you, Mike --- your pickup sure is cool and it definitely hauls ass! I'm glad you made it down to the Drags and had a safe trip back home. Malcolm
