**** Hendrix p***ed away on 8-7 in Bakersfield at 77 years old. **** was the founder of the Forties Limited Car Club back in the 1960's. At one point, Forties Limited chapters existed throughout Southern California. The club's original chapter, Forties Limited of Orange County currently has over 100 members throughout the world, and hosts the annual Forty Ford Day each June at La Palma Park in Anaheim. He owned a very famous 1940 sedan delivery, and operated a street rod business (name escapes me) in Orange County for many years. Condolences to the family.
Sorry to hear of his p***ing. I remember him because of Frank Oddo's articles in Street Rodder magazine. There is another guy that is gone [Frank Oddo] and we have yet to see any articles about him in Street Rodder. He was such a big contributor to that magazine, you would think they would have. I guess he and B.B. did not get along, or so Frank indicated when we communicated thru emails a few years ago. Sure wonder what happened to his 40.
Hello H.A.M.B., My father (Richard Hendrix) p***ed on 08-08-13 in Bakersfield and is and will always be missed. My DAD built a 1941 Fortie panel truck as I was growing up (most people knew him with that car) The 40 has been destroyed due to poor care! My DAD owned "THE STREET ROD SHOP" in Anaheim. My Dad also owned a black 1936 Ford that most cars at the time could not beat. My Dad started "THE RAKERS CAR CLUB of Long Beach" whitch disbanned in 60? when BRUCE WOOD**** was killed in their rail dragster trying to make the 200 mark. My Dad founded FORTIES LIMITED along with FRANK OTTO, my Dads best friend. I have tons of storys and memorys of a loving Dad and great friend. I miss you Papa... Your loving son, Scott Hendrix
