I think that's a speed alarm. You set it and if you exceed that speed a buzzer goes off.

If it is a speed alarm it appears to be set to the correct setting!

speed minder should be a knob just to the left of the brake warning lamp to adjust the speed that it is set at. It will buzz at the set speed if it still works.

Looks like a trip odometer. My 55 had one.

This answer is correct. (the numbers are to the left of the speedo sweep, and are set at 110. NOT the mileage or trip indicators)

That would obviously keep the buzzer silent under NORMAL conditions. DD

What is it with Buick and speed alarms? I've never seen one in any other GM product.

Speed alarm is correct. Under dash should be a knob to adjust. Had it on my 57.

Many years ago went with my grandfather to pick up his new Buick. As we were driving away from the dealership there was a buzzer that went off. He made a U-turn and went back to the dealer. It was the speed alarm. The salesman never mentioned it.

Mikes51Merk, I had a speed alarm on a '60 Bonneville. I believe it was a second needle on the speedometer, and you set it like an old fashion alarm clock. When the needles lined up, the alarm went off.

You mean you can't set the speed alarm for 392 MPH?
