MAN......what a turnout!!! Thank you to all the HAMB'rs that came out and supported the show!!! I will have final car count by tomorrow but im pretty sure we were well over 250 cars, not counting the drag cars.........

I had a killer HAMB sign made on Thursday, and the guys that were supposed to set it up on the right of the stage never did, so I DID make a space for meeting HAMB'rs but the meeting spot and sign never got setup, and I was so busy running around I didnt get time for anything.....

ALSO-Those of you who asked about the roadster crash on the track, the driver was fine and only suffered a busted rear end in his car.

Next year we will be opening up the dirt circle track for jalopy racing, and are discussing expanding to 2 days, as well as making some space for self contained RV's

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves, and we are already starting the planning for next year. The date will be October 14th, 2006, those of you who missed this years festivities can get the DVD when its done being edited.

I will more pics as I receive them, PLEASE FEEL FREE to post any that you have taken....I would love to see them.

Here is a pic of Doug Dorr and our "best in show" prizes for bike and car classes, and a pic of my dumb ass looking over my former pickup that showed up to the show......

Thanks bro, I saw your bike and was looking around for you, but I was all over the place that day.....I was the guy in the cart with the phone attached to my head (well sometimes a radio)

That HAMB sign we had made turned out great, but the stage guys that were supposed to put it up never did....

I was looking for a HAMB sign. I was bummed that it didn't get put it up, BUT... I did manage to meet few HAMBers!! It can't remember anyone's sign-on, but they were all really cool!! It was a pleasure to meet you! Danny from Vegas, if you're reading this, PM me!!! We need to exchange info!! Gotta' keep in touch with me on your '56 Pre-unit. I know your sign on is 55????? something or another. I'll try to look you up!

Hopefully we can meet up some other time Nick! We'll try for next year! :D

  15. My friends and I drove up Saturday in a Civilian Car. (A Durango we hid in the back of the parking lot.)

    Great show.
We weren't sure what to expect and were a little sorry we left the roadsters home.
I didn't think I liked Rockabilly music either, but the band/bands were great.

Thanks for the info on the roadster that backed into the guard rail.
When they towed him off it looked like the only problem was a bent wheel.
We were wondering what took them so long as far as clean up went.
Apparently the roadster dumped some oil on the track.

For those who didn't go, there were vendors, enough to make it interesting, a small swap meet, the car show that got larger every time we walked it and a low-key drag race going on, on the other side of the stadium with some of the show cars running and the occasional Saturday night drag racer running. (The for-real drags started late in the afternoon.)

Cold beer, good burritos, nice people and some interesting cars.
My favorite, the 56 T-Bird gasser with straight axle and all the stuff required to make it go fast and look good.

We'll be back next year, but the Civilian Cars stay home....:D

  20. My wife and I went here for our 16th anniversary and I must say this show ROCKED!!! We got to meet many great people, no HAMBers though. Tons of cool cars. Perfect weather! Got to meet Gene Winfield and spent a good amount of time with him during the day then saw him at the Cannery and ended up having a late dinner with him. What an amazing guy. This event had alot more to offer than others we have been to; vintage drag racing, swap meet, vendors, car show, pin-ups, bad ass bands and a great location!
My wife and I have been to many events in the past including VLV but this has been the best for us so far. I look forward to this event next year and will hopefully make the trek across country from NC!
That's how much we enjoyed it. Great time.
Thanks to the Road Devils for hosting an awsome time!

I'd love to make it out there next year. Bo was telling me I should be there this year but just couldn't fit it in the schedule. Maybe next year it will be a birthday trip for myself.

I just wanted to say the show was great. My first one for me and the wife. A bit windy on Sat for the motorcycle ride in to the show and the dress the wife was wearing. But all-in-all, we both had a great time. The music was great, the people were friendly, and the cars were tops. Thanks to those we met and who took us to town for the afterhours at the Double Down Saloon and made our vistit to town great. The wife and I even got kicked out of the Peppermill Lounge because she was wearing a scarf in her hair, (No headgear allowed) We had to settle for the diner instead.

already making plans for next year. the 52 pontiac should be road worthy by then...i hope.

i'll submit pics when i get them.

    Way cool show!!!
Disappointed there wasn't more Phx. rods there.
