I have this trim spear my dad picked up at a flea market years ago. He thought it might be Chevy truck, but no one I've asked around here has ID'ed it. Looks familiar, but still guessing. It measures 30 3/4" long by 2" high and is stainless steel with a cream color accent. Any good ideas?
'55 Chevy Bel-Air left side lower door trim. I don't know for sure, but think it is for a two door. Been out of '55's for a while.
This could get fun as I was just looking at a 58 Chevy on Ebay and the front fender moulding also looked like your moulding. Maybe some guys could get a measure off a 58 and let you know one way or the other Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy
Thanks guys. I think Squirrel is right, it sure looks like a '55 4-Door trim spear. Does anyone know if the wagon trim is the same?
It sure looks like it is...I can't find any good pics on the internet, but there's one in a 55-7 book I have that shows the door looking identical on the belair 4dr wagon and 4 door sedan.
The pictures of the wagons I've seen look the same as the 4-Door too. This lil' trim spear is moving over to the Classified section...
I can't read the numbers written on the inside, can anyone make them out? The spear appears to be a little too short, even for a 4 door 55. I think the 4 door spear is one piece running almost the length of the door, and the vertical piece butts against it. I too, have been away from 55's way too long.
Sorry. I should learn to read the whole post. I saw the length and width the second time around. I would think a 55 rear door is longer than 31 inches, maybe not.
