well, im fighting myself over chopping it. i want to of course, but i worry about depreciating it (first time in my life i have ever cared...lol)

but its gonna get adjustable suspension(of course) , probably bags,
and maybe a northstar v8 but we been kicking around a caddy flathead, but i want horsepower and dependability out of it.

i want to leave the interior and original as possible, make it just one bad *** summa beoch! ..lol... but tail dragger as much as possible!

  6. Looks like a great project. Reminds me of a 39 Cadillac convertible I looked at in Mesa in about '96. Was a pretty solid car, in primer, had a 472 and turbo 400 in it. The car was complete and was running. I've still got pictures of it around somewhere. The guy wanted $4500 for it. Wish I had bought it.

WOW, great find and pretty ironic as Roadstar and I just saw a LeSalle sitting in the parking lot of Costco's on Sunday as we drove down the main drag. It looked prestine. We should have turned around and took a photo as I did have my camera with me. Not sure what year but perhaps Roadstar will chime in. Congrats!

What a great purchase that is! That is one of my "Unicorns" also. Wanna sell...? :)
Actually I'm looking for one of those Cads or the same era Linc Z or Packard Coupe, but they seem to be too expensive for me!

Alex from Mission Auto has a Caddy he pulled out of a '62.
Might be a good compromise between the HP and dependablity, while keeping it Trad...
Give him a call to see if he still has it.

I like the Northstar idea... keep it Caddy...
You can even make the Northstar look kind of nostalgic....

    Give http://www.chrfab.com/ a look...

Milo had other yards, too, not just SV. Had a couple up around Casa Grande. I'll wait to hear more.

Way cool. I vote for chopping it. It could make a cool sled in the same vain as this Buick rendering that Janne put in the Friday Art Show a couple weeks ago.

The 62 Caddy motor Metalshapes mentioned would get my vote... and those things have enough torque to turn the world around. But zman's Northstar pic does have some merit... that's halfway tolerable....

What a beautiful car. I vote for chopping it, but it has to be done almost perfectly IMO or it will just wreck the car. How much did you pay for it? (Just out of interest)

the thing is, is the guy pulled the front sheet metal of so it wouldnt get damaged!!!! since the fenders are so hard to find! it is 120% sheetmetal complete! it even has the extra optional sheetmetal that the dealer offered for this car! and it has NO RUST! NOT EVEN IN THE PANS!!!

  28. Maybe someone can photoshop a chop on this one....... I kinda like it the way it is. I just think the proportions are right. I'm wondering if a chop wouldn't throw the length of the hood outa wack????

With all my '41 Caddy Coupe thoughts and plans running in my head, I will try
do a small photoshop later. But first, don't just slam it. Let's DRAG the tail,
not stick it up in the air like an overgrown hot rod. :D
