First off im not wanting to spend any money and had these trim rings and moon caps laying around... Im thinking about going with supremes later on but not right now. Wanting to make the car look alittle bit more hot roddy and i just dont think the original hubcaps cut it. Ill let you be the judge... which do you like better?

Me too. With a thinner whitewall it'd be perfect.

Hi, Great looking car. I would use the stock SS hubcaps rather than the moon caps that you have. I-M-O the moon caps that you have, are drawing the eye to them and away from the car. I would run the SS caps until I got my mag's. Ray...

Ditto on that! Not to criticize you,
    but since you asked....the factory
    wheelcovers - much better looking
    in my. opinion.

    Factory SS hands down.
I think the baby moons might work with black walls and no trim rings. But would be better suited to a biscane or lower trim model. They just kinda cheapen the hi cl*** sporty look of the SS.

I ran a set of rader mags on my 63 impala back in 1965. I'll look for a pic of the mags.

Either the stock '64 caps or even a set of '65 caps.

Image2.jpg I do like the original SS caps but mine didn't have them so I went with Cragar SS.

It used to be you ran the Moons and Rings because you didn't have the money quite yet for rims you really wanted. The rims you wanted back then were to replace the stock hub caps that you didn't think were cool enough...well, because they were stock.Anymore,if you have a set of stock SS hubcaps they are so much cooler than any nonstock rim .When I see a car like this with nonstock rims,I ask if the original hubcaps are still around and if they are for sale!

I like the stock factory caps much better. Maybe get a set of steels with larger blackwall tires for the back, that is what they ran "back in the day" around my neighbourhood.

I really like the car, perhaps my favourite years of Chevrolet full size cars.

YUP!!! Torque Thrusts all the way, thats what my pappy had on his '64 SS way back when. His was black with red interior then he repainted it all red and added the hood scoops off a 66 Chevelle SS:D

    Whitewalls look Gay.

  29. The moons and rings are ugly.
Keep it a true Super Sport and use the stock wheel covers.

Brand new polished Torque Thrusts are a seldom used wheel these days!
