Well, I finally got a 4 barrel on my Poly. I'd been searching for the intake for a long time, and my buddy Joe (57 FoMopar) actually found one for me, Thanks again! I had to do some clean up and smoothing of the cast iron, as it was very pitted, but I did it, primed and painted it to match the engine, not easy, as it was VW Cyber green, with some flake and Candy green mixed in. Did the swap on Sat, and the details and tuning today. Threw on an extra air filter I had laying around, but I'll have to find something much cooler to replace it with eventually. I hadn't been driving the 61 Dodge all summer due to carb problems.
Good to see another member.....lol........mines a Weiand alloy 7503, its been there since the late 70's, replaced the factory twin 4 intake/offy crossram setup.......but I have another factory intake again & will use a pair of Edelbrocks..........regards, andyd
Just a quick note....I found several poly 4 barrel intakes in a pile of boat engines in a junkyard. They used 4 barrel intakes on the boat/marine applications up into 66 or so.Chrysler Marine Division.Yes I sold them long ago....
Heres a better & more recent pic of the engine and a couple of the car after the vinyl roof was removed, rust repaired, etc......good luck with your poly......andyd
